Consider Starting a LifeWise Academy in Your School District

So consider starting a LifeWise Academy in your school district. You'll have a capable team helping you to have a successful launch, and its impact will be profound.

Recently I learned of a nonprofit, LifeWise Academy, that promotes released-time Christian education (RTCE) in public. RTCE is legal in all 50 states with just a few important criteria:

  1. It takes place during school hours.
  2. Classes must not take place on school property.
  3. Students must receive permission from their parents/guardians.

That’s it in most states, while some states may add some additional conditions. For laws in your state, go to Released Time Religious Education.

LifeWise Academy is spreading like wildfire. And they have created a simple 10-step launch process:

  • Step #1: Collect 50 signatures.
  • Step #2: Join a Kickoff Meeting.
  • Step #3: Raise $500.
  • Step #4: Form a Steering Committee.
  • Step #5: Draft a plan.
  • Step #6: Obtain school approval.
  • Step #7: Recruit your team.
  • Step #8: Train your team.
  • Step #9: Execute the plan.
  • Step #10: Launch

I joined the LifeWise team by first recruiting the necessary signatures (We have over 100 signatures at this time). Second, I headed up the Kickoff Meeting. Now I am raising the necessary $500 and have joined the Steering Committee. Presently I am recruiting other members. Why have I led the effort in the Indiana Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation? Because they are making a major difference in the lives of our young people. In just a few years they have spread to hundreds of school districts, and they have a participation rate of 30-95%. Most of their students are unchurched and have little to no knowledge of the Bible.

To be candid, there are selfish reasons. I have been disappointed with the progress Rock Solid Teen Center and Higher Ed.  u have made in expanding teen centers and Christian schools respectively. They are outstanding ministries that can transform young lives, but we need some capable and brave people to join the team.

I am forever a student, and with LifeWise I am learning from people who are highly successful at what they do. They have an outstanding supportive staff, training materials, and videos. Everything they do reaches a level of excellence. Over time I plan to implement their approach with Rock Solid Teen Center and Higher Ed. u, with the hopes of duplicating their success. Here is just one of their outstanding videos:

So consider starting a LifeWise Academy in your school district. You’ll have a capable team helping you to have a successful launch, and its impact will be profound.  And consider helping me expand youth centers and Christian schools in your area, all for the purpose of making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

In service to Christ,

Mark Eastway
